Second Time Around Baby Items: Lifesavers for Busy Moms

As a seasoned mom to Nola and Stevie, I’ve found that having the right baby gear can make a world of difference, especially when you're juggling multiple little ones. Today, I want to share my top picks for second-time-around baby items that have become absolute lifesavers, helping me stay hands-free while caring for my kids.

1. Wildbird Baby Carrier and Solly Baby Wrap

Let's start with these game-changers. The Wildbird Baby Carrier and Solly Baby Wrap are my go-to choices for babywearing. The Wildbird carrier is perfect for quick trips or longer walks, keeping Stevie close and leaving my hands free to tend to Nola or tackle household tasks. I've been using it with her since she was about 5 weeks old and I still strap her to me to get dinner done or free up my hands while I'm digging in dirt outside with Nola.

The Solly Baby Wrap is super cozy and was my go-to during those early newborn weeks when Stevie was a little too small for a carrier. These wraps allowed me to keep her close to my body and made sure I wasn't putting unnecessary stress on her legs or hips.

2. BabyBond Baby Bath Seat

Bath time is made easy and safe with the BabyBond Baby Bath Seat. It secures Stevie comfortably in the tub, allowing me to bathe both girls at the same time. I love how the seat has 3 different positions so if your little one is not sitting upright independently yet, you can still use it. No more slippery situations—just happy, splashing babies.

3. Fisher-Price Baby Bouncer Animal Activity Jumperoo

When I need to focus on one child but keep the other engaged, the Fisher-Price Baby Bouncer Animal Activity Jumperoo is a hit. I had this exact model with Nola and now Stevie loves bouncing and playing with the interactive toys, giving me valuable moments to handle other tasks.

4. Fisher-Price Baby Playmat Deluxe Kick & Play Piano Gym

Be honest, are you singing, "Maybe you could be, a purple monkey in a bubblegum tree" in your head right now? lol This playmat is a winner for tummy time and play sessions. Nola loved this toy when she was a baby and now Stevie enjoys the stimulating features. One thing I didn't expect was how interactive it would still bepast the infant stage, Nola loves to show her sister the different colors and piano sounds and it's so beautiful watching them play together.

5. Hatch Rest+ 2nd Gen

I absolutely love the Hatch Rest+ 2nd Gen for its portability and versatility. This smart device can move from room to room without needing to be plugged in constantly, thanks to its charging base. It's perfect for creating a soothing environment for both Nola and Stevie, whether it's nap time or bedtime.

Each of these items has been a game-changer in my daily routine. They not only keep my hands free but also promote bonding with both my babies. Parenting is a balancing act, and having these tools by my side has made navigating this journey a whole lot smoother.

6. Tripp Trapp Chair from Stokke (Natural) + Tripp Trapp Newborn Set

Last but certainly not least, the Tripp Trapp Chair from Stokke with the Newborn Set is a brilliant addition to our family mealtimes. I know its price is a little steep but we've had this exact model since Nola was a newborn and until Stevie took it over a few weeks ago, Nola was still using it. I love the fact that with the infant seat attachment, Stevie can sit comfortably in the kitchen with me while I prep dinner and then with us at the table which helps to foster family bonding during meals. As she gets older, it transitions into a highchair and then a toddler seat meaning that she'll use it until she's three years old at least, just like her big sis.
