Meiomi Pinot Noir

In my house, Meiomi's Pinot Noir almost has a cult status. I discovered this wine on a random trek to Trader Joe's (the source of all good things). It was hanging out in the wine section with a staff recommendation sticker and I decided to give it a go.

Holy shit. For the price, you'd be hard pressed to find a better pinot noir any where. Don't let the screw top fool you, this bottle is a bargain for the quality.

Meomi's website describes the wine as "a rich garnet color with a ruby edge, the wine opens to reveal lifted fruit aromas of bright strawberry and jammy fruit, mocha, and vanilla, along with toasty oak notes. Expressive boysenberry, blackberry, dark cherry, juicy strawberry, and toasty mocha flavors lend complexity and depth on the palate. The well-integrated oak provides structure and depth seldom seen in Pinot Noir."

Listen, I'm still learning how to be a proper wine drinker so I leave the description-giving to the experts. All I know is this is a damn good wine that would hold up well with a hearty pork, lamb, or steak dish as well as some black eyed peas with ham hocks.

I've found it on the shelves of Trader Joe's but I've also seen it in Whole Foods and my local grocery store. Do me a favor, buy a bottle, make yourself a damn good meal, put on netflix, and enjoy being a gaddamn adult.
