Lavender Matcha Latte

I've been drinking coffee since I was at least 10 years old. When I was a little girl, I would sometimes sleep over my Aunt Lisa's house and before she'd head to school (she was a teacher at the time), we'd have coffee together. Granted my coffee was 3/4 milk and a splash of coffee but still, I loved our little morning ritual and the taste of coffee. As I got older, I added less milk and more coffee to my cup and now, it wouldn't by hyperbolic to call me somewhat of a caffeine addict lol.

When the new year started, I took a look at a few of my vices and decided to make a change. One of those was my coffee consumption. I popped into my favorite coffee shop and they had a lavender matcha latte on the menu. I ordered it and was immediately in love. I've had one almost every day since. My latte habit became pretty expensive (they ran about $7 after tip) so I started making my own at home and honestly, I like my version better.

What Makes This Recipe Good?

Without a doubt, the star of this drink is the floral hint of lavender. It tastes like a spa treatment. This recipe will yield more syrup then you'll need to make one latte, so you'll have more than enough for your new addiction (you're welcome). Another great thing about this recipe is how versatile it is. You can use any milk you like, though I prefer oat, and consume it either hot or cold.

Tools You'll Need

Pro Tips To Help You Out

DO buy the highest quality matcha powder you can. I've had success sourcing on Amazon and Whole Foods. I particularly love this brand and this one.

DO add hot water to your mug before adding in matcha powder, it helps to stop the powder from clumping.

DON'T boil your water. You want the temperature to reach 170 degrees max. If you accidentally bring your water to a boil. Just let it sit for 10 minutes before finishing the recipe and you should be good to go.

DO taste and adjust matcha powder and sweetness until you get your perfect latte.

Thank you so much for supporting me and trusting me with the meals and drinks that you share with your loved ones. It means the world to me :)
